Clinical Approach

My approach to therapy is what I refer to as person-centered and possibility-oriented. What this means is that I collaborate with my clients to explore possibilities for change that fit within the context of their lives. By learning about, appreciating, utilizing, and building upon my clients’ unique strengths, I help them overcome their challenges and experience major transformations. I work with clients in a variety of ways, based on what we determine to be the best fit for their needs. Whether I’m working with individuals, couples, families, groups, or businesses, I maintain the belief that my clients are capable and change is possible.

What You Can Expect
Our work will begin with a complimentary phone consultation that will allow us to get to know one another and establish shared ideas about what will take place during our time together. This consultation will give me an opportunity to learn about what you’ve been experiencing and what you hope therapy will make possible for you.

It’s important for you to know that as a brief therapist, I am committed to working with my clients only as long as necessary to facilitate meaningful change. This means that once the problem that brought you to me is no longer a problem, we can consider our work complete. My couch is comfortable, but your time is valuable. I’ll celebrate with you when you’ve reached your goals, and then I’ll remain just a phone call away.
